”玄關”本是佛教裏談的“入道之門”，佛經曰：“玄關大啟，正眼流通”玄關是指進出屋的必經部分。（ps：樓層五行　一樓屬水        二樓屬火         三樓屬木       四樓屬金          五樓屬土　　六樓屬水 　　七樓屬火　八樓屬木　　九樓屬金)．台灣院落指的是四合院，基本四合院佈局採用縱深遞進或左右遞增護龍的方法．風水佈局，左龍右虎要平衡． 台灣的傳統閩南特色（閩式建築是指屋簷的特色），四合院的建築結構，以中廳為軸線，左右對稱地建有左、右廂房（在台灣稱廂房為護龍），「左龍右虎」， 左邊「龍」位，右邊「 虎」位。「龍」主財、吉利、好的;「虎」主破耗、　或不吉．宇宙的組合元素:「金」、「木」、「水」 、「火」、「土」組織而成，元素的組合適當 ，五行生剋平衡，生態便蓬勃發展。住宅風水多擺獅子、麒麟 具有靈性的猛獸在門口鎮守，作為住宅的守護神。八卦蝙蝠雲紋窗：中間鏤空的八卦，分別代表天、地、雷、風、山、澤、水、火八種自然界現象。“萬”字窗，期盼子孫延綿，福壽安康。以及麒麟吉祥富貴窗，最精美的是九龍捧壽蓮花窗。博古萬字窗：石窗的圖案由梵文“Ｘ”組成，佛祖釋迦牟尼胸部的標記，叫做吉祥雲海相。蝙蝠象徵福澤，例如五福臨門等。
（ps:蝙蝠是哺乳類動物非昆蟲．昆蟲：六隻（三對）腳 ．蜈蚣：節肢動物門－唇足綱每一節都有一對腳．馬陸節肢動物門－倍足綱每一節都有兩對腳．蜘蛛：節肢動物門－蛛形綱四對腳。）
